Judging a Book by its Cover
We’ve all been taught since a young age to not judge a book by its cover. While that might be true for people, there is some merit behind that saying for other things—like actual covers.
I’m going to quote Logo Design Love a lot. David Airey really knows his stuff so why reinvent the wheel? According to him, “People often choose products based on their perceived value rather than their actual value.
Let’s start with a few definitions and pictures, shall we?
BRAND: tone, mission statement, tagline, logo, color palette, typography, icons, voice, hashtags, imagery, patterns, styling, website, etc.
A LOGO is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol used to aid and promote public identification and recognition.
“It’s kind of like putting a face to a name—logos help people remember their experiences with companies.” —David Airey
A BRAND REFRESH is a tweak of your brand messaging, colors, fonts, etc.
A REBRAND is a complete makeover whether that’s brand positioning, visuals, marketing towards a different audience, etc.
Examples from Digico:
Refresh — Nature’s Highway
Rebrand — Carmellas
Do you think your company needs a little refreshing or is it time for a total brand makeover? Let us help you! We would love to discuss what would be best for you and your brand moving forward!
